This year's big project for the library was sorting the fiction section by genre. This was a much bigger task than originally anticipated, but it is now finished and ready to go! Each section has a color, and each book in those sections has the corresponding colored tape for that section, If the books are in a series, each book is also labeled with the number in the series, so it is easy for students to find. The shelves also have the corresponding colored tape for the genre book they contain, so it is easy to spot from a distance.
The genres are as follows:
Green--SciFi (Science Fiction)
Blue--Sports
Orange--Fantasy (I have mythology included in this genre for now)
Yellow--Horror/Mystery/Suspense
Red--Relationships (Peer, Familial, Interpersonal)
Purple--Historical Fiction
Light Orange--Adventure
Pink--Romance
White--Poetry
Grey--Biography/Memoir
Peach--Manga/Graphic Novels
