Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year! I am excited to be back in the Media Center as much as humanly possible this year after everything that has happened during the pandemic!
We started out before the school year began with Open House night, in which the Media Center was open for students to come in and grab their textbooks before classes even began! We had a great turn out and many students were able to pick their textbooks up.
Once school began, we had a book distribution schedule in order to get textbooks out to the different classes that needed them, which took three more days, plus a couple of late added students.
The second week of school, we started handing out Chromebooks for our 1:1 program. Students picked up a Chromebook if they needed one, because this year all students need a device (either one issued from the school, or their own from home). All devices should be charged at night so that they have full battery for the school the next day. It is also expected that all students bring their devices to school each day, as it is for learning purposes and teachers can ask them to bring out their devices at any time during the day for research or a project.
If a student has a problem with their Chromebook, they may bring it by the Media Center to get it checked out and have some trouble shooting before sending it out to get fixed. Usually it is just a faulty charger, which is a trouble-free fix!
I will now be concentrating on entering information for the textbooks that I was not able to get to last year, so I will be quite busy the next few months!
